The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) invites all Orange County school districts to submit nominations for the Classified School Employee of the Year (CSEY) program based on guidelines and timelines established by the California Department of Education. The goal of the program is to recognize the professional efforts of exemplary classified school district employees.
Currently employed classified staff in a California public preschool through grade twelve school, including charter schools, district offices, or county offices of education, are eligible based on a minimum of five years of service in a specific employment category. Each county may forward nominations of up to six individuals, one for each of six employment categories:
- Child Nutrition
- Maintenance and Operations
- Office and Technical Services
- Para-Educator and Instructional Assistance
- Support Services and Security
- Transportation
Each district is invited to submit one application for each of the six employment categories. Districts must submit their application package to the Orange County Department of Education postmarked by January 15, 2010.
School district nominations will be reviewed by a panel of OCDE personnel and school representatives to select one Orange County nominee for each of the six employment categories.
